Advanced technical development and comprehensive strength, speed, and endurance training are offered in a choice of three N.C.A.A. sports: Swimming, Cross-Country Running, and Fencing.

Swimmers receive world class interval training and technical instruction (for both trouble-shooting and refining stroke, kick, turn, and breathing). Individualized sprint and distance training is tailored to each swimmer's aerobic and strength condition as evaluated during initial work-outs. Individual video-tape analysis and in-pool demonstration augment technical instruction.

Cross-country athletes are first evaluated for condition and technique on the track. Speed, strength, and endurance training then begins in conservation and park lands in the Boston Metropolitan area. (Though all skills and conditioning levels benefit significantly from Alex's athletic immersion, runners and swimmers are strongly advised to complete their base training in advance of the summer intensive.)
